Matcats Place 2nd at UNK Midwest Duals

The Matcat Dual Team had a sucessful weekend at the UNK Midwest Duals held Saturday January 14th at UNK. The Matcats had five duals on the day going 4-1 and placing 2nd. In the first round they defeated Team Agoge 56-30. They followed up that dual with a 51-31 win over Ogallala, a 40-33 win over Columbus, and a 66-18 win over Central Nebraska Gold. This placed them in the finals where they fell to 2 Tuff 64-15.

Singlet Order

New this year the Matcats are offering a new singlet that can be bought for you individual wrestler. These singlets are only $45 for the singlet or $50 with your wrestlers name on the back of the singlet. All orders will be due January 10th at midnight. For those that are not interested in buying a singlet we will still be offering the old singlets that you can checked out and checked back in at the end of the year ($75 deposit refunded at check-in).

2016 – 2017 Season and Registration Coming Soon

The 2016-2017 Matcat Wrestling Season is fast approaching and we are working to finalize the details for the new season. More registration info and starts dates will be available soon. The Kearney Matcats welcomes wrestlers from Pre-K through 8th grade and wrestlers at all skill levels. We are excited for the new season and can't wait to see new and familiar faces.

Matcats Win NEUSA District A2

This past weekend 42 Matcats competed at the NEUSA A2 District held in Gothenburg. The Matcats came away as District Champions with 453 points, coming in second was the Midwest Destroyers with 323.5 points. 37 Matcats placed in the top 4 qualifying them for the NEUSA State Tournament in Grand Island on March 19th-20th.
